LEE CRISP

Simple Forms for Complex Times

16 - 25 February 2024, CCAS Manuka

An exhibition of watercolours, created from 2019 to 2023, portraying a journey through nature's generative force, contemplation on drought, fire, and the COVID-19 pandemic, and ultimately, a return to growth and attraction. The artist's small farm near the Shoalhaven River served as both a backdrop and inspiration during lockdown, allowing her to use her brush to gradually create meditative accumulations of marks that reflect the interplay of the human body, the natural world, and the passage of time, culminating in a narrative that captures shared experiences.
