Suspended Play involves two bodies of photograhic work. Both Portmann and Stevens employ a theatrical sensibility; installing urban environments with ritual and performance. Through a highly directed and constructed style of photography, the images create psychological landscapes that exlore the gap between our conscious and unconscious drives.
