People shouldn't judge me and assume that's how I am. I get in so many fights with guys who are like, 'In public you are the sexiest sex symbol, but you're not sexual at all at home'. I'm like, 'Whatever, shut up, I don't wanna be'. I'd rather watch a movie or, like, eat.

Raunch culture as defined by Ariel Levy (in Female Chauvinist Pigs), is a pop-cultural trend where overt and gratuitous displays of sexuality and flesh are used to define sexuality.

oomph is an exhibition of works by artists who imbue portraiture with raunch and explore identity through the performance of sexuality. This raises various questions in relation to the idea of raunch culture: How much of the work is ironic? Is it the employment of a porn-aesthetics to critique an aesthetic fad? Or can power truly be sought through objectification ... and is that the intention?

These and many more questions will be answered in oomph.
