But in the bird is a nest of maggots ... so revealing the idea of terminus to be merely relative: in the end is the fly's beginning.
... despite our proud flights of imagination , the scale of mass consumption places us in relation to the planet as the maggot to the bird.
... we can't comfortably reduce the exhibtion to a series of memento mori and moral parables. Technology is apart of our nature, and the race to an apocalyptic terminus is deeply embedded in the human experience, hardwired perhaps alongside a certain frentetic joy that gathers speed the closer we come to the abyss ... Ruin and romanticism go hand in hand ...

Towards the end of 2008 when it was clear that we were heading for a hard times, I started creating anonymous faces on found boards and old signs. Street art and graphic novels inspired these works. While painting I would listen to the old black box wireless in my studio capturing sound bites from public and talk back radio. These random statements were added to the portraits as thought bubbles.
